Eating at MasterChef season 4 winner Luca Manfé’s food truck, The Lucky Fig

You know those “where are they now?” segments on celebrity news shows and articles? I sort of did one when I visited MasterChef U.S. Season 4 winner Luca Manfé’s food truck, The Lucky Fig. (Or maybe Luca’s fans saw my YouTube episode and were like, “Oh, so that’s what that Christine from season 3 is doing now—making YouTube videos and eating…”) Either way, neither guesses are far from the truth.Luca was born in Italy, moved to New York, and was living there when I first met him during season 3 auditions. He didn’t get an apron but returned for season 4 and won the whole thing. Then, because he was starting a family and because New York is hell expensive, he and his family moved to Texas. At first, Luca was going to move to Austin, but I (or at least I like to think I helped) convince Luca to move to Houston instead.Funny story: when Luca announced on his social media that he was moving to Houston, someone asked if he was moving because we were dating.Luca and I are both married to other people, but like I said, I hope my persuasive skills played a part in his decision at least. Now, in addition to two kids, Luca’s got a great food truck in Houston serving elevated Italian fare. Check out Eating at MasterChef season 4 winner Luca Manfé’s food truck, The Lucky Fig to see what sort of dishes he’s cooking up in that vintage truck of his.You can also try your hand at his family recipes in Luca Manfé’s cookbook, My Italian Kitchen. Buon appetito!
