Introducing The Blind Goat, my very first restaurant concept
It’s been a dream of mine for years to open my own little establishment, but as a self-trained home cook, I’m also very aware of the fact that just because I can cook doesn’t mean I can run a commercial kitchen. That’s why it wasn’t until now that I feel ready to open my own place. I like that I’m starting small with a chef station inside Bravery Chef Hall, and that I’m doing it in my hometown of Houston, where I was raised and lived most of my life.I decided to name it The Blind Goat since I’m known as the Blind Cook, and goat is my Vietnamese zodiac sign. I also like its playfulness, which will be reflected in the “look and feel” of the place. The menu will consist of nhau dishes, which is the Vietnamese word meaning convivial eating and drinking. There will be shareable plates with Vietnamese flavors—I’m still developing the menu, though, so stay tuned for its reveal later on.With The Blind Goat, I hope to create a fun space where you can come enjoy a good meal with your friends, where everyone is welcome at my table. Please join me in this new chapter by following The Blind Goat on Instagram and Twitter. The Blind Goat is slated to open this fall--stay tuned for more.Read about The Blind Goat in the news:
