What it’s like to be blind at Universal Studios Orlando

Last summer, the hubs and I were in Orlando for the National Federation of the Blind national convention, and on a day off, we visited Universal Studios. It had been over a decade since I’d been to the movie-themed amusement park, and it was actually the first time I’d ever been to one with the hubs.I’ve decided the theme park experience is not that great for a person who is blind or visually impaired—the rides tend to cause motion sickness, and you can’t really enjoy such a huge aspect of the experience. Regardless, I’m all about trying everything in life, so I’m glad I did it. I would still go to Disneyworld and Epcot if I get the chance.Check out my YouTube video of us at Universal Studios Orlando, and see what it’s like to be a blind visitor at the tourist attraction.Have you been to a theme park with a vision impaired guest or are you one yourself?
