Sponsored Post: 5 easy recipes for your griddle that don’t involve pancakes

It’s a well-known thing that most people who own griddles are not using them for anything else but pancakes or bacon and eggs. Naturally, this is because they don’t realize that their griddle is currently the biggest pan they have in their house. If you think that you can only cook pancakes in your griddle, then let us help you out a bit. It doesn’t matter whether you own regular or electric griddles, always keep in mind that they can be easily compared with the flat-tops that you find in restaurant kitchens. Therefore, it goes without saying that you should use your griddle for everything you can think of as well!Griddled Vegetables For this recipe, you need 4 zucchinis, 2 eggplants, 25 Asparagus spears, cooking oil, 2 tbsp. of finely chopped Oregano, salt, and black pepper. You start by cutting the zucchini and eggplants lengthwise, into slices of roughly half an inch thick. Then, remove any woody parts of the asparagus’ stems.Heat the griddle and then start preparing the mixture of spices – when it is done, brush it all over the veggies. The vegetables are to be cooked in batches, mainly because the eggplant must be cooked for 15 minutes, while zucchini for 10, and asparagus for around 5/7.Don’t forget to turn them over!Grilled Chicken Breast In order to cook chicken breast on your griddle, you’ll start by covering the breast with parchment paper and then flatten it slightly until it is roughly 1⁄2 inch thick.Mix veggie oil, olive oil, black pepper, runny honey, soy sauce, garlic, and lemon in a bowl for a marinade. Then add the chicken and let it marinate for about one hour. The chicken breasts are then to be cooked for 4-5 minutes on each side, on a pre-heated griddle. Then, you must strain the marinade, place it in a saucepan, bring it to boil, and simmer it for one minute. Finally, you can serve the chicken with the sauce mentioned above and with vegetables as well.Grilled Cheese Sandwich For this easy recipe, you’ll have to pre-heat the griddle at 325 degrees and then spread butter on it. Place the bread slices on it and begin building the sandwich.Add cheese slices or any other type of cheese, pickles if you may, any type of cooked, thin meat, and you are ready to place the final slice of bread. Then, the sandwich must be flipped when the cheese starts to melt and the bottom bread piece turns brown.Let the other side cook as well – and now you have a grilled cheese sandwich!Falafel Patties For this tasty dish, you’ll have to sauté garlic and onion until the latter is soft and the garlic turns golden. Then, the mix must be put in a blender. The cayenne powder, chickpea, parsley, cilantro, curry powder, and rice are to be added to the mix. The ingredients have to then be pulsed inside the blender until they are evenly distributed and finely chopped.Once the mixture is done, place it into a bowl. Add lemon juice and 1⁄4 cup of breadcrumbs over it.In order to form the patties, knead the chickpea mixture with your hands. After this, you will use breadcrumbs again to coat the patties. Each patty is to be cooked on a preheated griddle for four minutes on each side.Hash Brown Patties If you are on the run, then you’ll need only ten minutes to cook some hash brown patties.Start by grating potatoes and squeezing them between paper towels to remove any moisture. The griddle has to be pre-heated at 300 degrees. Place chives, salt, pepper, parsley, and the grated potatoes in a bowl – then toss them well.Drizzle some oil on the griddle, and then make patties from the potato mixture. Each side of the patties has to be cooked for five minutes until it turns golden brown. The Bottom LineYou don’t have to cook pancakes in order to use your griddle. In fact, with a little bit of imagination, you could cook anything you can think of.There’s really not that much experience required to cook on such kitchenware – especially when it comes to electric griddles. Just follow a recipe closely – not pancakes - preheat your griddle, and then start cooking!
