Introducing Uncle Jax in Vietnam, the American gourmet popcorn

My earliest memories of popcorn are from the cinema. On the rare occasion my parents gave me money to go to the theater, I would beg for a little more so I could get a small bag of popcorn and a soda. To this day, whenever I smell popcorn, I think of two things: movie theaters and, yes, Target.Then I discovered microwaveable popcorn, and soon, that became a household staple for movie nights and sleepovers. My favorite flavor to no one’s surprise was movie theater butter.Just because I’m grown up now doesn’t mean I’ve outgrown my affinity for popcorn. There’s still something magical about the craggy texture; the crunch; the bold flavors; and, of course, the nostalgia. But as an adult, I have moved beyond microwaveable popcorn bags and on to popping my own kernels at home and adding mix-ins like this popcorn with kale chips I made on the "Crunchy" episode of season 2 of Four Senses.I’m always experimenting with popcorn flavors, so it was a match made in heaven when the opportunity to launch a gourmet popcorn line in Vietnam came along. Now I could bring one of my favorite American snacks to the country of my heritage.Before introducing the snack food to the consumer market, I worked together with Uncle Jax on developing flavors and ensuring the end product would be of the best quality possible. Ingredients are imported from the U.S. and manufactured and packaged in Vietnam using state-of-the-art equipment. Uncle Jax gourmet popcorn uses all natural ingredients and contains no gluten nor trans fats.Uncle Jax comes in four flavors:

• Wisconsin cheddar cheese made with real American cheddar cheese
• Hollywood butter lightly salted and made with all natural butter
• Chicago butter caramel coated in rich caramel butter for the most crunch
• Uncle Jax mix, a combination of Wisconsin cheddar and Chicago butter caramel for an explosion of both savory and sweet

I’ve been working on additional flavors that we hope to bring to market in the near future, so stay tuned.Currently, you can find Uncle Jax American gourmet popcorn at Simply Mart, U.S. Mart, Golden Gerbera, My Market, Circle K, Sunflower Mart, Phuong Ha Shop, Family Mart, Aeon, and B’s Mart in the Ho Chi Minh City metropolitan area.
