My TEDx Talk at University of California, San Diego: How the Blind see the world

Accessibility and inclusivity issues have been on my brain lately, since there’s been a recent spike in advocacy and awareness events on my calendar, from the Aira service launch at Houston airports to an upcoming Dining in the Dark event with the California Council of the Blind.I’m also taking a mini-holiday this weekend to Whistler where I’ll be snowboarding for the second time this season. (Check out my first adaptive snowboarding experience at Whistler.)Such independence is only made possible through programs like Aira and the Whistler Blackcomb Adaptive Ski & Snowboard Program. The first TEDx Talk I ever did was at UC San Diego in 2015, and it touched upon this very topic: why is it important to design a more inclusive world, and how do we go about doing it?My TEDxUCSD Talk has been viewed more than 80,000 times, and it’s helped me land several public speaking engagements. I’ve also been told it’s gotten many to think outside the box. That means a successful talk in my book!In what ways do YOU think our world needs more inclusivity?
